Does it Take Luck to Market Your Real Estate Investing Business?

The harder I work, the luckier I get”

Samuel Goldwyn

To get the above average direct mail response rate, or your buy houses for cash business to the top of page 1 of Google, or that YouTube video to go viral may well take a little bit of luck.

But the majority of your business success through effective marketing of your real estate investing business is going to come from 3 key things;

Once you are clear on your brand differentiation and marketing message and who you are trying to reach then you need to establish where those people are likely to be hanging out. Which social media networks? Events? Groups? Perhaps even clubs and social spots etc.

Then determine what media work best in reaching them? Video, audio, text, written, etc

Work hard on carving out the time to consistently deliver your brand message to those people. If you can set if their mind that you are real estate investing business they can trust because you show up, they are much more likely to recall you when the time comes.

Also give it time. It goes back to luck – if you do happen to have great success with a first video or email don’t think it is going to happen every time. all too often I see real estate investors have some great initial success, then the next time they run a campaign the results are not the same so they immediately assume that channel is no longer effective and a waste of their marketing dollars. There are so many people competing for limited attention spans you have to be in this for the long haul.

You know what they say – ‘curiosity killed the business (cat!!)’ Much as your prospective clients are being bombarded with messaging so too are you. Enticements to try the latest marketing hack, social network like Clubhouse, automated LinkedIn connection tools or what ever. Don’t get distracted. Stick with your plan, work it and execute it.

Make sure you are spending the time doing the right things well versus trying to do lots of thing minimally. After all as Earl Wilson said – “Success is simply a matter of luck. Ask any failure”
